Cleveland Cavaliers take a road trip to the West to clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Target Center, tipping off at 8:00 PM ET. The T-wolves, just like the Cavs, are going through a rough patch. Minnesota’s superstar Anthony Edwards threw down a dunk so vicious in their win over Utah (114-104) on March 19, that it might be the season’s best. The insane slam, however, came at a cost as Edwards suffered a minor finger injury but still managed to finish the game. He’ll be hoping that his finger cooperates for their upcoming clash. So, will “Ant-Man” suit up tonight?

The Timberwolves injury report is out, and it’s not looking great for the no. 3 seed in the West. Rudy Gobert (rib sprain), Naz Reid (head injury), and Anthony Edwards (finger dislocation) are questionable while Karl-Anthony Towns has been listed out for Friday’s game against Cleveland.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (47-22) fell short in a rematch against the Cleveland Cavaliers (43-26) on March 8th, losing 113-104 in overtime at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Despite the absence of star Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland leaned on a strong performance from Darius Garland, who chipped in 34 points.

The Wolves, riding a five-win streak in seven games and a heart-stopping 113-111 victory over Indiana, were aiming for a season sweep against the Cavs. But Jarrett Allen, Cleveland’s center, had other plans. He bagged a career-high 33rd double-double (33 points, 18 rebounds) and led the team in scoring during a dominant 16-7 overtime performance. Allen even went off for 10 points in overtime alone.

With both teams missing key players, the match-up came down to execution. While Edwards’ status remains up in the air, his presence on the court would be a huge boost for the Wolves.

Ant-Man Stat-Line

The slam dunk by the Ant-Man that resulted in a finger injury has been labeled as “That was my best dunk of my career, I’m not going to lie,” by Edwards himself on the Bally Sports broadcast. Edwards exploded for 25 of his 32 points in the second half, adding 8 assists and 7 rebounds.

Edwards’ stat line against the Nuggets was a masterpiece: 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, with 2 steals and 3 turnovers. He shot 50% from the field (13-of-25), including three triples on eight attempts. Notably, he surpassed his pre-game projections in all categories (points, rebounds, and assists).
