The GSW coach, Steve Kerr, was quite vocal about the whole situation post-game. He was of the opinion that players were intentionally baiting their way into foul calls.

And that left the refs with no choice other than to call it. Following the coach, the rest of the Warriors like Curry and Brandin Podziemski also added their inputs.

“It does cater to the guys that can sell calls… It’s frustrating,” Steph said to the reporters. He also mentioned how there needed to be more consistency in officiating.

Curry finished the night with 18 points, four assists, and two rebounds. While the key players of the team seem to be struggling, the bench unit of the Golden State rose to the occasion. Of course, it has been the case for a major part of this season and nobody’s complaining.

But Brandin Podziemski, who saw 34 minutes of game time tonight, also had a similar opinion as Chef Curry. The post-game media talk saw him put it in plain words.

Even so, Podziemski was quite proud of the fact that his team played well together. The 4x champion coach, Steve Kerr, did not deem it necessary to stay diplomatic after Nikola Jokić hit every single one of his 18 free throws. Just a slight nudge and Kerr was off like a bullet on how the officiating in the NBA now has become a “disgusting” sight to watch.

While Jokic seems to have found that fine line between his issues with refs and fouls, the Warriors are still on a learning curve. Talking about the whole incident, the Warriors coach tried hard to maintain a neutral stand. “I have no problem with the officials themselves… I have a problem with the way we are legislating defense out of the game,” he said.

He goes on to further defend the officials, saying that the league has “enabled” the players to ease their way to the foul line. It’s basically “baiting” the referees into calling fouls. And they leave these officials with no choice other than to make the call because that’s how they’re “taught”.

The rules of contact for defenders in the current scenario mean they have limited options. So, Kerr’s frustration can be understandable.

Hopefully, the outcome of this tirade won’t be “disgusting” for Steve.
