The controversial star of the NBA, Ja Morant, is waiting to make his return to the court. Due to his gun controversy, the Memphis Grizzlies star had been banned by the league. The two-time All-Star has been experiencing a lot of difficulties during his NBA ban. However, now that his ban is coming to an end, he is excited to make his comeback and represent his franchise.

During a press conference, he even spoke about his team and had a realistic approach to their chances of making it to the playoffs.

Ja Morant talks about the Grizzlies’ making it to the playoffs

Ja Morant showed off his confidence in a press conference when they asked him about the current situation of the Grizzlies. He said, “Playoffs and Play-In is a while from now. Like I said before I take it day by day I feel like each day we can get better at something. Even if it is an off-day, we taking care of our body or watching film. Just having that focus now and as far as those guys and their level of play, obviously, I feel those guys are playing at an all-star level.” 

He further added and said, “And you know when I come back hopefully, it stays the same and makes their job even easier.” Due to this 25-game ban, Morant has got to think about his actions and what consequences it had on his career. The 2x All-Star has even spoken about his difficulties and the impact this episode has had on his personal and professional life.

The guard realized the need for accountability and repentance, emphasizing that merely talking about being a better leader is insufficient. Instead, he pointed out the need to act like one to demonstrate change.

How is the Volunteer State looking this season?

The Memphis Grizzlies found themselves in an unusual situation as they began the 2023/24 NBA season with an embarrassing 0-6 record. The absence of important players like All-Star Ja Morant and starting center Steven Adams has caused the squad to struggle to find its groove. While stars Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson have shown potential, the Grizzlies’ role players have failed to rise to the occasion, contributing to offensive struggles and defensive errors.
