Durant, on the other hand, is keen to point out that there is no drama and, more importantly, no communication between him and Jennings.

However, KD went on to question as to why the people are making such a big deal out of this and dissecting comments he did not make. “Does KD deserve better? Or he doesn’t deserve better? Like, why are you even talking about this?” Durant asked, stressing the insignificance of the subject. According to the 13x All-Star, external assumptions appear to have created this drama rather than any true discussion between him and Jennings.

Now looking at Durant’s remarks, they highlight the constant scrutiny and the over-analysis that frequently surrounds the words of high-profile players. Therefore, in a league where the smallest suggestion of conflict can influence narratives, the 2x NBA champions’ direct denial of any communication with Jennings puts a stop to any conjecture about a developing controversy.
