The New York Knicks are ready to take on the second half of the season following the All-Star break. Jalen Brunson and Co. will go head-to-head against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. With the Sixers playing without their superstar Joel Embiid, the Knicks have a solid opportunity to start the second half with a win. And the latest update in the Knicks injury report could increase their chances of defeating the Sixers tonight.

According to the Knicks injury report, shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo will return to the lineup tonight after missing the last game due to a hamstring injury. DiVincenzo has been a solid addition to the Knicks roster. He has played really well all season under Coach Thibs, averaging a career-high 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. DiVincenzo was balling out before he got injured. He averaged a whopping 26.5 points in the last 8 games before missing the final game heading into the All-Star break. The 27-year-old’s return could have a massive impact on tonight’s game if he continues his dominant form against the Sixers.

Apart from DiVincenzo, Center Isaiah Hartenstein could also make his return in tonight’s game. However, he will be on a minute “guideline” if he plays against the Sixers.

Hartenstein missed the last three Knicks games before the All-Star break due to an Achilles injury. And the Knicks will take it slow with him until he recovers completely. Hartenstein has had a decent season offensively and has been a menace on defense. He is averaging 7.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks. Hartenstein’s presence on the floor will add another Big Man for the Knicks that could prove effective against a Joel Embiid-less Sixers.

Can the New York Knicks break their losing streak tonight?

The New York Knicks have had an incredible season so far. They are 4th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 33-22 record. However, Jalen Brunson and Co. headed into the All-Star break with 4 consecutive losses. That killed their momentum for the second half of the season. The Knicks can regain their momentum tonight by beating a shorthanded Sixers team. While their superstar, Julius Randle, is still out of action with a shoulder injury, the return of Donte DiVincenzo and Isaiah Hartenstein could be the turning point for the Knicks.

Jalen Brunson will also look to continue his dominant form since he has gotten a taste of becoming a first-time All-Star. He is having a historic season with the Knicks, averaging 27.6 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. The Knicks hope to maintain their winning record and make a deep run in the playoffs this season. And their journey starts tonight.
