During the bubble in 2020, Josh Hart was seen donning a Chelsea FC jersey, and it was clear to the masses that he was a soccer geek. Since then, he has been seen musing on social media, showing his love for the English club. But his support seems to go beyond the club level. Josh Hart kept his eyes glued on the proceedings in Germany, with England participating in Euro 2024.

With Gareth Southgate at the helm, the misery of the English national soccer team in the major tournaments continues. England took the field against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen and by the first half-hour mark of the game, the Three Lions were left shell-shocked. Through Ivan Schranz, the underdog Slovak team took the lead which not only caused dismay for the English fans but also for Josh Hart.

Fans on the Social media platforms went into meltdown and Josh Hart wasn’t able to keep himself out of it. The Knicks forward took to social media to express his frustration with the lackluster showing by England and wrote, “England does this every tournament,” followed by a facepalming emoji.

He kept himself glued to the game and kept his X TL updated with match proceedings. During half-time he wrote, “He should be lol,” agreeing to a fan that Southgate should be sacked. But England left it late and it was great. Jude Bellingham‘s 95th-minute overhead kick equalized the score and Josh Hart was left stunned. He gave a one-word reaction to it by tweeting “Wow” and then sent out another tweet, adding, “World class from Jude.” He wasn’t the only one keeping an eye on the game from the NBA though. Another sports fanatic, Sixers C Joel Embiid also joined in on the act. “Bellingham so COLD,” wrote the Cameroonian on X. The passion was oozing out with every passing moment of the game, and it has been like this for Josh Hart for quite a while now.

Josh Hart’s love for Chelsea FC

Josh Hart’s enthusiasm for soccer is well-documented. The former Villanova forward is not known for his assists, but he dished out a big one when Chelsea fans started a fundraiser for two banners. Hart, being a Blue by heart, did not hesitate to shell out $2,500, instantly meeting the fundraising target. He also visited Chelsea’s home ground in London, Stamford Bridge, in May 2022 and tweeted, “Is there anything better than watching Mason Mount play football?”, after clicking a picture with Mason Mount.

Hart even revealed he was willing to “sell my soul” to be the owner of the club when Roman Abramovic relinquished control of the club in the same year. The recent seasons haven’t been kind to Chelsea as the club is far from their championship hopes. “It’s been tough being a Chelsea supporter lately but it’s forever,” Hart wrote on X. Now with one worry out of the way as England recorded a comeback victory against Slovakia, Josh Hart would be eager to see Chelsea back at the top starting next season.
