The New York Knicks have been on the news lately since the NBA off season. No, it’s not for the offseason trades. Months after finding itself amid a legal battle, the Knicks have now found themselves in the good books of Bob Myers. Myers, who recently quit his position as the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, has become an ESPN analyst. With the license to speak about other franchises, he commented on the growth of the NY team’s desire to again become the favorite destination for players.
Myers has proven to be one of the most successful GMs in the NBA’s recent past. In 2012, he took over the GM’s office of the Dubs exactly around the time when the Dubs’ core three were formed. Importantly, he played an influential role in roping in Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes. Through the course of his career, he played a part in the Warriors mix until 2023, eventually winning four rings and two NBA Executive of the Year awards.

Bob Myers has arguably become one of the most powerful voices on ESPN, considering his resume in the league. Featuring a zoom call, he spoke about the potential left on the Knicks’ side. Over the last few years, the NY side has been on the firing line, criticized by both critics and experts. The fans are still waiting for the front office to trade a star player. Even during the off-season, when the teams were juggling their players to make a strong roster, the Knicks didn’t make any notable trades.
Despite all the downside, Myers still feel that Knicks has again become the favorite destination for players, reported Ian Begley, a Knicks beat reporter. In his statement, Myers said, “There was a time where I felt like people may not have wanted to play in (NYC) & I think that’s changed. I think now, you’re looking at murmurings, hearing things – ‘Hey, what about the Knicks?”

Following that, he also added that the team has consistently worked on improving the number and even suggested that the Knicks could fetch higher seeds in the upcoming seasons, according to postingandtoasting.com.
