After reaching 40,000 points in the Denver Nuggets matchup, LeBron James decided to play the victim card in the post-game presser. Although the Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the Nuggets, the LA fans were willing to overlook the mishap in favor of the King’s historic night.

But James’ rant about nobody in the NBA ever wanted him to succeed wasn’t so very well received. And now, an ex-ESPN employee, Dan Dakich, who is currently the host of the Don’t @ Me radio show for OutKick, calls the 4x champion out. He says, “It never stops with this man.”

Dakich then further elaborates on how his claims are nothing more than just empty words. He says that he was present in Ohio when LeBron was a high school student. And anyone who saw how the public “loved” and “worshipped” him could not accept his ridiculous claims. Dakich goes on to cite two examples – the first was where a high school LeBron James drove a Hummer to the school.

The second was when the OHSAA suspended Bron. There was an uproar, and they were forced to reinstate him. That was the kind of support he had. Granted, the rapid success of someone would garner hatred and a wish for failure from a group of people. That’s just how the world works. There are always going to be haters.

But the vast majority rooted for the success of LeBron “the GOAT” James. “He [James] had a state in the palm of his hand,” Dakich said. And more importantly, if “everyone” wanted to see him fail, would he have been the recipient of the cushiest of deals ever?

Everybody knows that King James makes more from his off-court endeavors than from the NBA. From the lifetime Nike partnership to being the first active player to make it into the billionaire club, James is now a long way from being just a ‘Kid from Akron’.

Yes, he came into the NBA with a heavy responsibility on his young 18-year-old shoulders. But in the same press talk where he claimed that everyone wanted to see him fail, James also said that he wouldn’t tell anything to his younger self.

Although it is a situation he wouldn’t wish on any youngster, those very circumstances helped him reach the status he is in right now. Away from poverty, away from a single mother trying her best to provide her son a decent life while trying to keep him away from all the evils the society was offering.

Does LeBron James have haters? Most definitely, just like every other successful person out there has. But does it mean that “everybody” wanted to see him fail? That’s just plain ridiculous. The amount of hate in Ayesha Curry’s comment section would put even LeBron to shame.
