LeBron James has found success in fields outside of basketball. And one of his most successful ventures is The Springhill Company, a global consumer and entertainment brand. It is the parent company for three major names that we are all very well aware of: UNINTERRUPTED, Springhill Entertainment, and the Robot Company.

He started these in partnership with his long-time associate and close friend Maverick Carter. Now, greatness and honors come looking for them in the form of NAACP awards. The Springhill Company has five nominations in the 55th NAACP Image Awards.

All five of them fall under Springhill Entertainment for Unscripted & Docs, Scripted Television, and Feature Film categories. While LeBron has been in close discussions for awards, this would be a first for his company, considering the number of nominations it already has.

Shooting Stars, the movie that tells the story of LeBron James and his friends becoming the top basketball team and his subsequent journey to stardom, bagged three of the five nominations. The next is a sports drama series (Crossover) that is a coming-of-age story of brothers and their family. The main character, Josh Bell, played by Jalyn Hall, got nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Youth.

The final nomination is for the talk show, Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts. The news anchor in “Good Morning America”, Roberts talks about various topics from identity to overcoming emotional struggles with guests. We can safely say that Springhill Entertainment is going places after this one!

On a different note, this isn’t Bron’s first rodeo.

LeBron James and the NAACP

Over the years, James has seen his name on the discussion panel for NAACP awards. From outstanding literary work to best entertainer, Bron’s name takes on several roles. But the most noteworthy among these is the President’s Award in 2021. Presented to LeBron for his contributions to society and his community, the 52nd NAACP Award will forever be etched into his memory.

LeBron James has become a voice that people listen to. A household name, the 4x NBA champion, has made waves across the country and even globally. The LeBron James Family Foundation, I PROMISE School, and I PROMISE Village by Graduate Hotels provide transitional housing for families, and House Three Thirty offers job training and financial health programming, as well as “More Than A Vote”, a coalition of Black athletes and artists LeBron founded in 2020 that is dedicated to educating, energizing and protecting Black voters, are his initiatives on the philanthropic side of things.
