With this lucrative contract, Spoelstra has become the second-highest-paid coach in the league now. While the Spurs Gregg Popovich leads the list in terms of annual salary, Spo takes over when you consider the total value. To break it down, Pop gets paid $19 million per year. Erik’s new contract gets him $15 million per year, putting him in the second position. Monty Williams, the Pistons coach, comes third with $13 million, and then, Steve Kerr with $9.5 million.

But the total eight-year $120 million+ extension practically wipes out everyone. HoF coach Popovich had signed a five-year $80 million extension last summer. Williams had taken over when he signed a six-year $78.5 million agreement.
