If there is one name that gets thrown into the GOAT debate the most after Michael Jordan, it has been none other than LeBron James. James has been an absolute phenom since his arrival in the league and has been one of the most consistent players for the past 20 years.

It’s true that LBJ himself would like to surpass MJ in the GOAT debate. However, this stat, where James and Jordan have drawn parallels, is something The King did not want or even foresee this year.

Michael Jordan is widely considered the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball by numerous players, legends, and NBA pundits. He has broken numerous records, put up big numbers, and set records of his own that would go on to stand the stride of time. But there are many who would pick LeBron James instead as the greatest of all time. And now, the two share one more record, albeit this is not something James would have wanted to.

With the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in his previous match, LeBron James suffered the worst defeat of his career. And ironically, Michael Jordan also suffered the worst loss of his career at the exact same age. A post shared by House of Highlights on Instagram stated that James and Jordan both lost games when they were exactly 38 years and 333 days old. And what is even more baffling is the fact that they both lost the game with the same 44-point deficit.

The worst loss handed to LBJ

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers lost their previous game to the Philadelphia 76ers. The game finished with the final score of 94-138. The 76ers were locked in on both offense and defense.

No player from the Lakers squad managed to surpass the 20-point mark. The team shot a whopping low 20% from beyond the arc in that game. The 76ers had an advantage in rebounds, assists, and even turnovers.

The Lakers had 17 turnovers as compared to the 76ers’ 5 turnovers the entire game. Not to mention the offensive output Philadelphia was able to generate. Two players with 30 points and more, along with a strong performance from the bench.

Hopefully, this turns out to be the biggest point margin by which LBJ loses a game in his career.
