Cade Cunningham was extremely happy to finally get back in the winning column. He led the Pistons to a nail-biting victory against the Raptors, snapping Detroit’s record-breaking losing streak. When asked how he felt about winning his first game in two months, Cade said with a smile, “I feel good. It’s been a long time coming. So, don’t want to go back to where we were.” The Pistons became the record-holders for the longest losing streak in league history after their 28th straight loss in the last game. But they share that record with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Had they lost tonight, the Pistons would have been the only team to hold that record with 29 consecutive losses. They nearly snapped their losing streak in the last game against the Celtics after they took them to overtime. Many fans expected the Pistons to win tonight after their commendable effort in the last game. And the Pistons proved them right. The fans in the Little Caesars Arena celebrated the win like they had won a playoff series.

Tonight, Cade also became the first Piston since Chauncey Billups in 2007 to score 30+ points and 10+ assists with 0 turnovers. Even though Cade was happy after tonight’s historic win, he realized that this was only their third win of the season. He expects his team to continue this momentum and get out of the hole they have dug themselves one game at a time. It will be interesting to see if Cunningham and Co. can turn the season around after tonight’s win or if it was just a fluke.
