The highly anticipated game between USAB and Australia is underway in the UAE. As predicted, Steve Kerr has started LeBron James, Steph Curry, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and Joel Embiid. After a dominating win against Canada, the same was expected from the USA team. With Kevin Durant sidelined with calf soreness, this lineup looks to be locked for the Olympic Games. But with 3 more exhibition games remaining after this, some tinkering might be needed depending on the results.
No matter the lineup, the Dream Team 2.0 is expected to deliver on the big stage, but for the fans, one thing is yet to meet expectations and that is the streaming of the game. The viewers who were excited to see the game were met with disappointment with the poor quality of streaming service. Fans made their dissent known on social media platform X as they found themselves unable to enjoy team USA in HD.

Fans left agitated by poor streaming quality
With no sign of improvement in streaming quality, fans forced their fingers into action by sharing their issues on X. A fan wrote, “Man, is it just me or does FS1 look like crap?” The game is being streamed on FS1 live. The complaints started after blurry visuals started mid-stream. Since then, the issue has persisted.

Another fan posted, “Who cameras are they using for the game,” again highlighting the camera issue. With no NBA action (excluding the Summer League) on the menu for some time to come, the fans wanted to relish team USA in action. But the visuals are driving them nuts, which could lead to a massive drop in viewership.

What’s your perspective on:
Why can't we get a decent stream for Team USA games? This is embarrassing!
Have an interesting take?
A third user posted, “Is the @FS1 broadcast grainy for anyone else?” For this unfortunate soul, the visuals are grainy. The whole purpose of streaming is to bring the on-court action to the living rooms (or bedroom for many) is high definition. But the complaint indicates that was far from the case. The grainy images sometimes stem from pixelated displays, but surely not everyone’s devices have pixel issues.

“Camera action kind of trash. Feel like I can barely see the net,” a fan wrote. Just like any sport, the visual clarity of the scoring area decides the viewing experience. For this fan, it has been anything but pleasant in that regard.

For team USA, the match ended on a somewhat distorted note. The 98-92 win shows just how close the game was and their first half work was almost undone by the second half rally from Australia. At halftime, team USA led 55-37 but Aussies outplayed them in the second, mostly in the final quarter by scoring 31 points. This performance will surely give Kerr and his staff a lot to think about. Next up is Nikola Jokic‘s Serbia on July 17 and by then hopefully both team USA and FS1 will have a fix to their respective problems.
