After missing the last six games, Dallas Mavericks’ shooting guard Kyrie Irving may appear in tomorrow’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, in a bittersweet turn of events, Mavs superstar Luka Doncic has been listed as “questionable” on the Mavericks’ Injury Report.
During the last game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics, Kyrie injured his right thumb while guarding Jayson Tatum. An X-ray revealed the sprain in his thumb, keeping him out ever since, but he is all set to make a “probable” comeback in Dallas’ next showdown with the Philly 76ers.

Ever since Dallas acquired Kyrie in a $120 million contract, the hope was that his teaming up with Luka would take the Mavs to the Championship. Unfortunately, nearly a year since his trade, Irving has been in and out of the lineup due to various injuries. However, when he is on the court, he averages 25.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
Mavs Coach Jason Kidd also stated that Kyrie has had “two good days of practice” and will “hopefully be available” for the next game against Philly.

Right when a glimmer of hope appeared for the Mavs with Kyrie’s hopeful return, Luka has been listed as questionable due to soreness in his right ankle. Doncic himself has been struggling with ankle pain over the last few games and had a minor injury scare during the last game with the Milwaukee Bucks. Interestingly, he still bagged 40 points in that game. Luka Doncic has been averaging 28.6 points with 7.7 rebounds in the last ten games played.
Injuries likely to cause loss of championship for the Mavs
The cloud of injuries looms over the Mavs. Currently, ranked in the 8th place, they need all the reinforcements to get through to the playoffs. The Mavs stand at 3-7, averaging 116.0 points, 38.8 rebounds, 25.2 assists, 5.1 steals, and 3.3 blocks per game while shooting 48.1% from the field.
