When a player plays for one of the most storied franchises in the NBA, there is bound to be a lot of pressure. That is the case with Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum. The Celtics are tied with the LA Lakers at 17 for most Championships in league history. And Boston fans expect Jayson Tatum to bring home another title and make their franchise the sole leader in rings. But Tatum has been unable to reach the ultimate goal despite making several deep runs in the playoffs throughout his career.

Former Boston Red Sox player and Hall of Famer David Ortiz revealed his fandom for Jayson Tatum and claimed he had what it takes to win it all.

Baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz sat with Red Sox reporter John Tomase for an interview. He revealed his fandom for Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum ahead of their rivalry game against the Philadelphia 76ers, “I might be his number 1 fan out of all of Boston.” The Red Sox legend had high praise for Tatum and considered him one of the most elite players in the league who plays his heart out every time he steps on the court. Ortiz further said, “It’ll come.” about Tatum’s hopes of winning a Championship in Boston. The MLB legend believes Tatum knows that Boston fans are true basketball fans, and he has what it takes to win a Championship for them.

David Ortiz knows what it is like to win for Boston fans as he won three World Series titles with the Boston Red Sox during his Hall of Fame career. Tatum has led the Celtics to four Eastern Conference Finals and one NBA Finals. And it always looks like the Celtics are one piece away from lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy. But this year, they might have found that missing piece.
