The Milwaukee Bucks might be in big trouble. They have lost 7 of their last 10 games and are on a 4-game losing streak. With only 4 games remaining in the regular season, there is a chance of them losing their 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference right before the playoffs. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. have a 47-31 record, and the Magic, Knicks, and Cavs are only 1 win away from catching them. Amid Milwaukee’s recent struggles, their superstar Damian Lillard shared a cryptic Instagram post, raising more concerns.

Lillard took to social media after Milwaukee’s 4th straight loss and shared a cryptic quote on his Instagram story. The post read, “A narcissist creates chaos but demands peace in return.” Although it is uncertain who the quote was targeted towards, there is a slight chance Dame was talking about head coach Doc Rivers. It has been nearly 3 months since the Bucks fired Adrian Griffin to replace him with Rivers. While the Bucks expected Rivers to take them to new heights, the new head coach has struggled miserably in his new role.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. are an abysmal 15-17 under Doc’s leadership this season. Moreover, Doc Rivers has frequently avoided taking accountability for Milwaukee’s struggles since his hiring. In a recent interview, Rivers questioned the team’s professionalism after their disappointing performance on the road. “I’ve actually been sitting back and watching everything. Not just our players but our travel crew, everything.”

“We don’t bring the necessary professionalism, seriousness on the road.” Maybe it is comments like these that pushed Damian Lillard to voice his thoughts on Instagram through a cryptic quote.

When Damian Lillard left the Portland Trail Blazers to join forces with Giannis Antetokounmpo, he expected to be in a much better situation by this stage of the season. But Dame has struggled in this new environment. He is averaging 24.5 points, 7 assists, and 4.4 rebounds this season, a significant drop from his season average last year. Before Dame moved to Milwaukee last summer, he had his career’s best offensive season in Portland. Lillard averaged a career-high 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds during his final season with the Blazers. He capped off his incredible season with a 71-point performance against the Rockets in February.

Lillard is having one of his least productive seasons in Milwaukee. His numbers this season are lower than his career average of 25.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.2 rebounds. Despite being one of the best shooters in the league, his three-point percentage has also dropped from 37.1% (last season) to 35.5%. But his numbers will not matter if Dame can help the Bucks win a Championship this year. Despite recent struggles, Dame is still hopeful about this season.

In an interview with The Athletic, Dame revealed his belief in the team despite their 4-game losing streak. “Obviously, I hate how the last two weeks or so, however long it’s been, has gone. It’s uncomfortable, and it’s frustrating to lose games that we should win and then have a game like tonight where we start off playing well and then have a bad third quarter and get those guys believing, and then they take over the game. But when I look around the locker room, I just feel good about it.” Damian Lillard and Co. hope to turn things around and figure things out before the playoffs begin.
