This weekend, they will have the chance to see him in a more relaxed setting at the All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.

Victor Wembayama is all occupied during the upcoming All-Star weekend

Wembanyama is going to have a busy weekend in Indiana. On Friday, he will first be present at the Tech Summit. While many representatives and former players of the NBA talk about the rise of technology and its future within the sport, Wemby will have media responsibilities to tend to.

Later in the day, the French center will compete in his first-ever All-Star event. The San Antonio Spurs giant is all set to take part in the Rising Stars game besides talented rookies and sophomores such as Chet Holmgren, Paolo Banchero, and Scoot Henderson. Victor Wembanyama will be the star of Team Pau Gasol during the three-game mini-tournament.

On Saturday, he will take part in the Skills Challenge, a multi-course event. He will team up with Banchero and Anthony Edwards to complete Team Top Picks, a trinity of all the number-one picks over the last three years.

Of course, he will stay back on Sunday to watch the signature event – The All-Star game.

Judging from his schedule, Wemby is packed for the entire weekend. TSN asked him about his first impressions of his participation during the All-Star weekend. However, Wembanayama hasn’t even got to processing it yet because of his utmost dedication to the Spurs.

“Honestly, my mind has been so focused on our season that I haven’t thought about it too much. It’s probably going to hit once I’m there. And it’s going to be a special experience. I’m looking forward to it. And I wonder how it is to see … the All-Star teams, seeing this many great players together,” the 20-year-old rookie told TSN.

This is merely the start for Wembanyama. In his first season, there were murmurs about him being a possible All-Star. While he missed out on being the first rookie since Blake Griffin to be a part of the highlight event, he will have a nod in the future. Victor Wembanyama has settled into the NBA better than most would have imagined.

He has become the central figure within the Spurs. As he grows and refines his game under Popovich, the 7’4″ center will only get better. Even now averaging 20-10 and three blocks is something only Shaquille O’Neal and eight other HOFers did for an entire season. It’s where Wemby is beginning. Imagine what’s to come.
