The league finally announced the 2024 All-Star Reserves on Inside The NBA. Fans were thrilled to find some of their favorite players on the Eastern Conference Reserves list. But there were a few superstars who got snubbed off the list in the final selection. The Eastern Conference All-Star Reserves for this year include Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, Bam Adebayo, Julius Randle, Tyrese Maxey, and Paolo Banchero.

Superstars like Trae Young, Jimmy Butler, and Kristaps Porziņģis headlined the All-Star snub list. Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young was arguably the biggest snub among all players. He was one of the leading vote-getters among fans for the starting position in the previous round. However, Trae failed to garner enough votes from the media and players to make the Reserves list. Young is having an incredible individual season, averaging 27 points and 10.9 assists. But the Hawks’ 20-27 record cost him the All-Star selection.

Jimmy Butler was also on the All-Star snub list despite being the leader of the Miami Heat. Butler’s teammate Bam Adebayo got the nod over him. Boston Celtics Center Kristaps Porziņģis also could not make the team even though he has been a key contributor to the Celtics’ success this season. Porzingis is doing wonders for the Celtics in his debut season in Boston. He is averaging 19.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks and has helped the Celtics grab the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Tatum even called Porzingis the “missing piece” in their Championship pursuit.

Other notable names on the Eastern Conference All-Star snub list

Apart from these obvious snubs, several other star players could have found themselves on the Reserves list. Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan is having a great season, averaging 22 points, 5.3 assists, and 4 rebounds. However, the Bulls’ 23-26 record was not enough to earn DeRozan the All-Star nod. Scottie Barnes is also having an incredible season with the Raptors. He has become the franchise player for the Toronto Raptors following the departure of Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet. Barnes is averaging 20.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists and has settled well into the new superstar role.

Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is also having a decent season, averaging 23.9 points, 8 assists, and 5.1 rebounds. But he has played only 22 games so far due to multiple injuries. That might be the reason he was not considered for this year’s All-Star team. A spot might open up for one of these superstars in the All-Star team, as Julius Randle will most likely miss the game due to a dislocated shoulder.
