Even though Tyrese Haliburton has his eyes on the inaugural NBA Cup, he is also looking at the bigger picture this season. Haliburton claimed he was tired of being a loser and wanted to get to the playoffs this year. NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed Haliburton’s mission, “I’m gonna get you shots, I’m gonna make life easy for you and we are going to win.” The point guard wants to recruit star players to Indiana, and he is using this season to make sure the players know how easy their lives would be if they teamed up with Haliburton.

Indiana has not found any significant success in the playoffs in the last few years. They have not made the playoffs since 2020, and it has been a decade since they won a playoff series. The 23-year-old knows he will need more superstars to find success in Indiana, as the league is stacked with super teams.

Can Haliburton lead Indiana to their first trophy in years?
The last piece of hardware the Indiana Pacers brought home was the Eastern Conference Championship in 2000. The Pacers have been desperate to get back into NBA relevance since the Reggie Miller era. Tyrese Haliburton has the potential to make it happen. Indiana needed an amazing performance from Haliburton against the number-seeded team in the last game, and the superstar delivered. He posted his young career’s first triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists, eliminating Boston in the first knockout game.
Haliburton has been going off in the in-season tournament. He has averaged an insane 28 points and 13.4 assists in the five games, proving he can take over any game when the stakes are high. Indiana has a talented roster led by one of the young stars of the league. And if Haliburton manages to lead the Pacers to the inaugural NBA Cup, many stars will consider teaming up with him to chase a ring in Indiana.
