His remarkable 2023-24 season numbers include an average of 21.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. But despite his outstanding performances, the Hawks are experiencing issues, as they presently hold the No. 10 spot in the Eastern Conference with an 18-26 record.

The Lakers, too, are having a disappointing season, sitting as the Western Conference’s No. 9 seed with a .500 percentile. Due to that, they are interested in Murray as he is consistent with his game and can improve their roster. The time is ticking for the Lakers, as the trade deadline is February 8. and the outcome of the ongoing discussions will have a huge influence on how both clubs play the rest of the season.
