When Shedeur Sanders slipped from a projected first-rounder to the 144 pick in the NFL draft, everyone was left in shock. It was the Cleveland Browns who finally ended the youngster’s three day wait, fulfilling his dream of becoming a pro footballer. Although it happened much later than he expected, Sanders surprisingly had a positive outlook, “That’s what it’s about. You can’t be up too low or anything. You got to be able to celebrate.” Now, the quarterback is ready to embark on this new journey. And turns out, he has the biggest hype man rooting for him – LeBron James!
As Sanders prepared for his rookie minicamp for the Browns, LeBron shared a video of the quarterback’s visit to the team locker room on his Instagram story. He also had a wholesome message to go along with it, “Let’s get it 12!! 1 day at a time.”

Born and raised in Akron, James has always been a huge Browns fan. Moreover, he has strong ties with Shedeur’s father and NFL legend Deion Sanders. So, his support for the young quarterback comes as no surprise. Also, this is not the first time LeBron has done so. Last year, while Shedeur was dominating with the Colorado Buffaloes, the Lakers star closely followed his games and even occasionally hyped him up on X.
Following Colorado’s win over North Dakota State, James tweeted, “Shedeur to Hunter for 6! Going to be seeing and hearing that a lot this season I bet!” Now that Sanders is representing LeBron’s home team, that support will only continue to grow, as evident from his IG story. And Sanders also seems ready for the challenge.

Shedeur Sanders has everything he needs to succeed as he receives key advice from Tom Brady
In the video shared by LeBron, Shedeur was draped in all-black clothing and stood in front of his locker with a huge smile on his face. Then, he took out some Browns themed items from his $5,900 Getaway Weekender bag from Bottega Veneta: Team notebook and his Nike Air DT Max ’96 sneakers. He also showed off his multiple team jerseys. Hyped to start the minicamp, he said, “I got everything I need to be successful.”
What’s your perspective on:
With LeBron James backing him, is Shedeur Sanders destined for NFL greatness despite his draft position?
Have an interesting take?
Earlier today, he took field for the Browns for the first time, beginning the rookie minicamp along with other draft picks. That includes third round pick Dillon Gabriel, along with undrafted rookies Jabre Barber and Cade McDonald. The minicamp will continue tomorrow. Even though Sanders’ draft stock plummeted at the last minute, he can still turn things around and emerge as a superstar for the Browns.
Turns out, NFL legend Tom Brady even sent him a private message, urging him to turn this disappointment into motivation, “I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well. I said, ‘Dude, like whatever happens, wherever you go, that’s your first day. Day 2 matters more than the draft.’ I was 199. So, who can speak on it better than me? Like what that really means. Use it as motivation, you’re going to get your chances, go take advantage of it.”

Obviously, Brady is the best person to give this advice to Shedeur because he was a sixth-round draft pick, but ended up becoming a seven-time Super Bowl champ and arguably the GOAT. So, where you were drafted does not define how your career will progress.
With legends like LeBron and Brady backing Shedeur, all he needs to do now is focus on his game and try to make the most of the opportunity he gets with the Browns. Do you think he will make other NFL teams regret not selecting him higher in the draft with his performance on the field?
