The Golden State Warriors had just managed to break their three-game skid, which started with the loss to the Nuggets. Nikola Jokić and his squad destroyed the Warriors’ happiness once again, who were coming off a win against the Magic last night. The GSW lost 127-130.
The Nuggets in the fourth quarter were driven to get that win. Nikola Jokić scored a last-second three-pointer from nearly 35 feet out, to secure the win. Talking about his game-winner in the game, “The Joker” has a five-word response. “It went in. I’m happy.” Typical Nikola.

While we have come to expect unusual results at the last second from the Serbian superstar, tonight’s buzzer-beater is one of those moments that will go down in history. The Warriors had looked quite comfortable at home. Not too far behind the Nuggets in the first half, the Dubs took the lead in the third quarter.

With just four seconds left, Denver tied the score at 127. And then it was madness. Jokic looked like he was on pins and needles as the ball came soaring into his hands. Kevon Looney was like a dog with a bone on Nikola. Not looking to take the risk of losing the ball, Jokic must have sent a prayer to the basketball Gods, before throwing.

And the result was a tie-breaking three. The crowd looked on in shock; not a sound out of them, save the commentators and the winners could be heard. The above video captures Stephen Curry standing with a look that could be translated to, “Not this again”.
Unfortunately, what looked like certain victory turned into a dismal loss. With tonight’s defeat, the head-to-head record of this season shows a three-game losing streak between the two. Since it’s always thrilling to watch Curry-Jokic leading their respective teams to one of the fiercest battles, the fans love these matchups.
There will be one more game featuring the Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets on February 25th. By then, let’s hope Kerr’s Warriors will find a stable ground from which they can play without worry.
