Ayesha Curry reveals the horrifying truth
As per Feeding America, nine million children in the USA are food insecure. While food insecurity has always been a concern in the United States, the numbers only spiked during the pandemic. A year after launching their charity foundation, Ayesha Curry appeared on the Design Time podcast.
In the podcast episode, she discussed the prevalent issue of childhood hunger, her foundation, and its pandemic plans. While the foundation came to fruition in 2019, Ayesha has been working towards the goal years before that. She said, “Eat. Learn. Play. is years of us putting all of the elements together; the things we were doing in one place to make a bigger impact”.

She further adds, “Each component of Eat. Learn. Play. is near and dear to my heart because I’ve been advocating to end childhood hunger in America for years. 1 in 6 children are going hungry every day in the United States. Those numbers for me were more than enough to get me going, get me fired up”.
Ayesha believes every child must be able to dream. And to dream, they need access to the necessities- nutritious meals, education, and physical activity. She adds, “When you hear these three little fundamental things Eat. Learn. Play., it’s shocking how many children don’t have access to simple things that are important in watching a child grow and thrive“.
She also revealed how the foundation adapted to fit the unique and demanding needs of the pandemic. Since offline education was not in the cards for children during lockdown, the non-profit organization aimed to provide a stable internet connection. The aim was simple, to allow kids to continue their education online.
