With Stephen Curry out, the Warriors put all their hopes on Jimmy Butler heading into last night’s Wolves clash. A win would tie the series and force Game 6, on track for Steph’s potential return from the hamstring injury. But Jimmy failed to answer the call. He was a non-factor in the game, finishing with just 14 points on 5 of 9 shooting. As a result, the Bay Area team lost and sure enough, many blamed Butler for it. Turns out, there was a concerning reason behind his underwhelming performance.
As revealed by Steve Kerr, Jimmy was suffering from an illness, which the Warriors did not list on the injury report. The head coach called the illness “definitely impactful” as Butler’s shot attempts dropped significantly. In the previous game, he took 26 shots and scored 33 points along with seven assists. Even Draymond Green said postgame that Jimmy was feeling “pretty crappy” all night because of the illness and was not as vocal as he usually is.
However, Kerr confirmed that there is nothing to worry about as Jimmy is “feeling better and he’ll be ready to go tomorrow.” That’s positive news for the Warriors, considering they will need all the help they can get in Minnesota with their season on the line. And Jimmy might be their best hope of keeping this series alive.

Steve Kerr called Jimmy Butler’s illness yesterday “definitely impactful.” He went from 26 shots in G3 to nine in G4. Kerr: “But he’s feeling better and he’ll be ready to go tomorrow.” Steph Curry remains out but did make the trip with the team.

Without Curry, they are already short of their primary scorer and playmaker. Sure, his injury has given Jonathan Kuminga a lifeline, and the young forward has played great in the last three games, averaging 23.6 points. But no other supporting player has stepped up consistently to make up for Steph’s absence.
So, Butler needs to regain his lost form and play at a high-level tomorrow if he wants to keep the Warriors’ season going. Fortunately, Steph will be there cheering for his team from the sidelines.

Well, the series might have looked a lot different had Steph not injured his hamstring in Game 1. Following the Grade 1 left hamstring strain diagnosis, the sharpshooter has been forced to watch his team struggle from the sidelines. Every night, he comes out with immense hope, but returns with his head held down in disappointment. Hopefully, tomorrow will be different.
Although Curry will not suit up because he continues to deal with the injury, he has reportedly travelled with the team to Minnesota. That means he will be on the sidelines once again, guiding his team as they fight to save their season.

During Game 4, Golden State struggled to fill the massive void left by Stephen Curry’s absence. After keeping things relatively close early on, the Warriors unraveled in the third quarter, letting the deficit balloon to 20 points. But while Curry couldn’t contribute on the court, his presence off it proved just as vital.

In a rare and powerful moment, Curry took over the huddle—not Steve Kerr—to deliver a heartfelt message to his teammates. The four-time champion urged them to fight back with belief and energy, reminding them of who they are. “We need to have the same energy and body language we do when we win here. Let’s go on a run. We can do this,” Curry was heard saying on ESPN’s broadcast, trying to rally the troops and reignite their fire.

All the Warriors are focused on is somehow getting one more win because Steph is expected to return in Game 6. Following tomorrow’s game, they have a three-day break before the next encounter, which will likely give Steph enough time to recover completely.
If the Warriors are able to win one on the road and Steph’s return is confirmed, the series could take a drastic turn in the coming days. So, the fate of the Warriors’ season now rests on Jimmy Butler and Co.’s shoulders. Do you think they can get the job done tomorrow and extend this series?
