After an abysmal season on the court, the Detroit Pistons are also starting to catch some heat off the court. The Pistons were set to face the Phoenix Suns on Valentine’s Day. However, a major altercation between Pistons’ Forward Isaiah Stewart and Suns Big Man Drew Eubanks in the tunnel took everyone’s attention away from tonight’s game.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Stewart got into a heated argument with Eubanks and punched him in the back tunnels of the Suns arena. The situation got so bad that the police were called into action to handle it. It is still unclear what caused Stewart to put his hands on Eubanks. The NBA is expected to receive footage of the tunnel for review, which might also be used by the police for further investigation. Eubanks and Stewart were reportedly going chest to chest before the Pistons forward punched the Suns Center in the face.

The fight between Isaiah Stewart and Drew Eubanks shocked everyone because the Pistons Forward was not even playing in tonight’s game. Stewart has been out of action since January 28 due to an ankle injury. He got ruled out of tonight’s game and was expected to return following the All-Star break. However, Stewart might have to miss even more time because of his actions tonight. Stewart might face a severe penalty in the form of a fine or a suspension if the NBA finds him guilty of initiating the physical altercation with Eubanks. A Suns spokesperson claimed Stewart’s attack on Eubanks was unprovoked and the team will continue to work with the local law enforcement and the league. However, the reality will only be known after the league reviews the footage of the incident.
