Nate Robinson, the 5’9 point guard of the Knicks, among other teams, had opened up about his health struggles recently. Although the 39-year-old did not have a notable NBA career, he did make the headlines by becoming the league’s three-time Slam Dunk Contest Champion. After retiring in 2018, Robinson tried his hand at boxing too.

Even though he spends much time out of the public eye, his latest candid talk about kidney failure has got the NBA world’s complete attention. He said that his dialysis treatments happen three times a week for four hours. And that he is still looking for a compatible kidney to replace the failed one.

A Kyrie Irving fan posted a heartwarming message for Robinson, “Health is the real wealth. Praying for nate robinson.”

Another user puts forth his hope that Nate will find a donor soon, while encouraging him to stay strong!

An advocate from the other side of the globe comes forth with his own experience, bringing attention to an often overlooked aspect – the family of the patient. The family goes through pain that is almost on par with the patient.

Another user, a streamer and a tech enthusiast gives props to Robinson for his “bravery and resilience.”

Finally, a user sends some spiritual hope and well-wishes. “Ohhh Lord be with him!! I pray he finds a donor & continues to live a long healthy life!!”

It’s quite heartening to see so many people come forth with such genuine responses. Goes to show that the world is not entirely doomed, yet. Joining the HoopsHype crew for a discussion, Robinson admitted that there are days that are worse than others. But he is focused on the good things in his life rather than worrying about the what-ifs.

The last time Nate Robinson had made headlines was in 2020. That was the year he decided to venture into celebrity boxing.
