Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is one of the most accomplished players in the NBA’s illustrious history. In fact, the 21-time All-Star is also one of the most well-paid athletes in all of sports. Not to mention that the 40-year-old also has a successful business empire off the court. However, despite being so well off, the Akron native is quite well known for being frugal and not spending on anything unless he absolutely needs to. But the same cannot be said for his wife, Savannah James.

While chatting with her friend and co-host April McDaniel about her spending habits on the latest episode of her podcast “Everybody’s Crazy,” Savannah revealed her failure to give up on overspending despite some strong advice from her husband. It all started when McDaniel asked James, “When did you feel like or have you ever felt like Yeah, you yes. When have you ever felt like you needed to budget?” As soon as the Lakers star’s better half heard the question, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter before answering.

“When have I felt like I needed to budget? So, first of all, I don’t spend money. That’s it. I’m very um I’m not frugal by any means, but I feel like I’m very aware, like yes, when [ __ ] is getting out of hand, like you know, um I was actually told by my husband from you know, a meeting that he had that I actually need to relax really recently,” she said. Mrs. James shed light on how LeBron tried to stop her from going overboard while buying something.

However, despite the strict advice, Savannah believes that she only spends when necessary. “So, yeah, you know, it’s a little crazy, but I agree. But I don’t know. I just don’t think I ever get to a point of doing too much. Like I feel like I’m very good at spreading out and only doing things that are necessary.” She further added. Now it’s pretty hard to tell whether the 39-year-old is an excessive shopper or not, given that she likes to keep her personal life private. However, she did explain why she cannot be an overspender because of where she comes from.

“I’m not excessive. I feel like it comes from the fact that you know, this is getting into like the later or the earlier years, but like I never came from a place of want. Like my parents worked. If I asked for something, I got it most of the time. Like, I never came from a place of want. So obviously s–t is different. It looks very different over here, but I don’t have the need or the want to be excessive. So, ’cause I never wanted anything,” she explained. James reflected on her childhood in Ohio, where she grew up in a working-class family alongside her 4 siblings.

Growing up, Savannah learned how to share whatever she had, and that’s a major reason why she feels that she doesn’t get the urge to spend money on something she doesn’t need. In fact, she even went as far as suggesting that she doesn’t even want anything apart from the necessary stuff, which comes from her upbringing. Nonetheless, that’s not all that she’s learnt from her parents, as James never also never fails to celebrate her children.

While Savannah James’ spending habits might be up for debate, her love for her kids certainly isn’t. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s wife’s appreciation for her children, especially Bronny James, was on full display on Monday as the sophomore guard turned 21. To make her firstborn’s day even more special, Mrs. James took to Instagram to post a carousel of pictures featuring several adorable pictures from when Bronny was just a toddler.

However, while the pictures were surely beautiful, what caught everyone’s attention was the heartwarming caption Savannah wrote. “My first born baby is 21 today This could have gone 1 of 2 ways…. But I’m so overly confident in the man you are that I have no tears. Just gratitude that I was chosen to watch you become the man you are today. I pray for you so much happiness, health, joy, growth, courage, inner peace and an abundance of love!! Happiest Birthday @bronny!!! I love you beyond measure #GiverOfStretchmarks Lol!” She wrote.

It’s safe to say that Savannah was pretty excited for her son’s 21st birthday, as she poured her entire heart into this lovely message. Not just that, she also used her sense of humor in the hilarious hashtag in the end to add another layer of happiness to her wish. But she wasn’t the only one to wish Bronny on his special day. Nonetheless, it goes to show just how much her children mean to James, who, alongside her husband LeBron James, is pretty well known for her hands-on parenting style and her fantastic bond with Bronny James.
