Tonight is an emotional night for Damian Lillard. The Trail Blazers legend made his highly anticipated return to Portland for the first time since leaving the franchise last summer. The Milwaukee Bucks were in town to go up against the rebuilding Blazers squad. Before the game, the Blazers paid homage to Dame with a tribute video of his best Blazers moments. However, Blazers’ rookie Scoot Henderson soon stole the limelight from Dame as he put on a show early in the game.

Scoot got off to a red-hot start in tonight’s game and dominated the Milwaukee Bucks’ defense. He had the same points total as Dame and Giannis through the first two quarters. Scoot went off 15 points and 2 assists, giving the Blazers a 2-point lead at the end of the first half. The NBA world was surprised by the rookie’s scoring outburst and praised him on X. One fan wrote, “The Scoot Henderson coming out party being against dame is hilarious.” The NBA World followed suit.

A fan reminded the world of Scoot’s quote at the start of his NBA career, “I’m Scoot Henderson.” Scoot claimed he was built for the NBA and ready for the next chapter.

Many fans praised Scoot for his incredible performance and claimed he would do fine in the NBA.

Apart from Scoot, another Blazers star, Anfernee Simons, also had a decent performance in the first half. He scored 11 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. The Blazers will need a solid second-half performance to retain their lead. Milwaukee has an elite offense, and it will be hard to stop Giannis and Dame once they get into a rhythm. It will be interesting to see if Scoot can finally make a name for himself tonight by spoiling Damian Lillard’s homecoming.
