Stephen Curry at MSG: Donte DiVincenzo Taunts 4X Champ With DC Horrors in Friendly Banter

The Golden State Warriors are looking to continue their hot streak by beating the New York Knicks on the road. After an easy win in Washington on Tuesday, Stephen Curry and Co. are playing at the Madison Square Garden tonight. And unlike Steph’s horrible start against the Wizards, he started tonight’s game red-hot. Steph came out with a vengeance and scored 17 points and 10 rebounds in the first half to give the Warriors a 55-46 lead.
Steph’s incredible start surprised his former teammate and Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo. The Baby-Faced Assassin made 4 of his 7 three-point attempts and wreaked havoc on the Knicks’ defense. DiVincenzo was not happy with Steph getting back in rhythm and started trash-talking the Warriors’ superstar by reminding him of his abysmal game in DC. “That’s how you wanted to start off? You wanted to start D.C. scoreless, now you wanna come in here. Okay.” DiVincenzo used friendly banter to throw Steph off his game.

Curry had one of the worst starts of his career during Tuesday’s game. He had nothing going in his favor and went scoreless in the first half. That was the first time since November 2012 that Steph scored 0 points in the first half of a regular season game. Steph had a similar start against the Denver Nuggets over a decade ago. He did it once more during the 2019 playoffs against the Houston Rockets. Even though Steph went scoreless in the first half on Tuesday, he had a decent second-half performance and finished with 18 points. However, the 4-time Champion did not want to risk it tonight and came out of the gate swinging.
Can Stephen Curry’s resurgence help the Warriors win?
With Stephen Curry back in form, the Warriors have a solid chance to bag another road win tonight. The Warriors gained momentum early with Steph’s scoring outburst and took a 9-point lead heading into the second half. Apart from Steph, Jonathan Kuminga also had a decent first-half performance. He went off for 14 points and 3 rebounds. Klay Thompson also looked in great rhythm and hit 2 three-pointers off the bench.

Meanwhile, Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson had only 9 points in the first half. Villanova boys Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo kept the Knicks afloat, combining for 22 points at the half. The Warriors need to continue doing what they did in the first half to come out with a win over the Knicks. Dub Nation expects a monster second-half performance from their superstar Stephen Curry after he went ballistic in the first half.
