The fashion industry and the basketball world are closely connected. When players with big names like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, etc, wear a particular outfit of a brand, they have the power to influence the common people to buy the products of that brand. So, because of that, some brands collaborate with basketball stars by paying them a hefty amount and start a clothing line using the player as a selling point.
