After commanding the game for the opening three quarters, the Golden State Warriors suffered a 130-125 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite a good defensive effort early on, the Warriors were unable to hold on to their advantage in the fourth quarter, bringing their winning streak to an end. Even though the Clippers were lacking their top scorer Kawhi Leonard due to injury, they recovered their rhythm late in the game.

Norman Powell was key for this comeback, scoring 21 points in the closing minutes, including four clutch three-pointers. Even Paul George made a significant contribution of 24 points before getting fouled out. However, after the match, the head coach of the Warriors pointed out the reason why they lost this game.

Steve Kerr believes this is a one-off loss for the Dubs

After finally gaining some momentum this season, according to Coach Kerr, this loss is just a one-off for the Warriors and not a relapse. So, in their coming matches, they will bounce back from this loss stronger than ever. And in this matchup even after dominating throughout the game, Kerr gave an explanation about why the Dubs suffered a loss saying, “We lost control of the game defensively and I don’t think we adjusted enough.”

It was not like the Warriors played badly, they also put up some great performances. Like Stephen Curry, he put up a fantastic effort, scoring 41 points, and became the first player in NBA history to score seven or more 3-pointers in four continuous games. Also, Draymond Green who put up 9 points and 10 rebounds aiding the Dubs on the defensive side of things. Even their rookie star Brandin Podziemski made a remarkable effort, which included a career-high 25 points and five consecutive 3-pointers. But their efforts weren’t enough to earn the win for the Bay Area.

However, with this loss, they received a piece of good news about their veteran guard Chris Paul who suffered an injury and was out for a prolonged time. He plans to increase his on-court activity after the All-Star break as he recovers from a hand injury.
