After joining the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving has been able to fit into the squad exceptionally well. Even in the recent matchup against his former team, the Brooklyn Nets, the 31-year-old guard mesmerized the spectators and earned a homecoming 119-107 victory. Irving scored a game-high 36 points, due to his signature ball-handling skills and spectacular drives to the hoop. One standout moment occurred in the third quarter when Irving made a thundering slam dunk off a bad pass from Luka Doncic which threw the fans as well as Doncic into a frenzy.
The Slovenian Sensation even spoke about it on the Old Man and the Three podcast saying, “I almost didn’t believe it, that was actually insane for Kyrie to do that, I can’t do that.” The host JJ Reddick even asked Doncic about how it is playing beside Irving to which he said, “Great man, he’s a really great guy you know obviously its just been amazing you know he helps me and everybody on the team and everybody loves him on the team so he’s just a great guy.”

The five-time All-Star said that Irving’s influence stretches beyond his scoring ability. Even Mavericks coach Jason Kidd acknowledged his beneficial influence and leadership among the team’s younger players. Despite a rocky career with the Nets surrounded by controversy and off-court distractions, Irving’s skill and star power are unquestionable.
