Not many imagined the Phoenix Suns to be eliminated in the first round, let alone get swept by a young Timberwolves squad. However, that is what transpired last night as the Kevin Durant-led team lost 122-116 in Game 4, putting an early end to their 2023-24 campaign. And arguably no one was happier than Draymond Green, who did not forget to bring out the receipts against Suns Center Jusuf Nurkić right after their embarrassing exit, not even waiting for Shaquille O’Neal’s help like many predicted.

Bringing up Nurkic’s viral tweet that he made after the Warriors’ got eliminated in the play-in tournament, Draymond did not hold back in his response to the Center. “Unfortunately, that’s all folks!” Draymond said with a smile on The Draymond Green Show. Then, comparing Nurkic’s tweet to Kyle Kuzma’s tweet about the Pistons, Green wondered whose tweet aged worse and gave Nurkic the edge, “That tweet spoiled so fast, like that’s spoilt milk.”

Calling Nurkic the “Big Softie”, Green doubled down on his comments by further throwing shade at the Suns Center. “You gotta be really careful when you’re not that successful and you try to take jabs at people.”

After Draymond tagged Shaq and his podcast on an Instagram story in February, many believed the Warriors Forward would make an appearance on The Big Podcast to respond to Nurkic. That seemed like a good option, considering Shaq has been one of the few people who has defended Green for his actions on the court multiple times, even saying, “There is nothing wrong with Draymond. Y’all treating him like he’s crazy. He’s not crazy. He’s been playing like this the whole time.” But Draymond could not hold back any longer after seeing Nurkic fail in the playoffs.

How does Draymond feel about the rest of the Suns?

While Draymond Green had nothing good to say about Jusuf Nurkic on his podcast, his feelings toward the rest of the Suns players were a little different. Despite his differences with Nurkic, Draymond might not have wanted to see the Suns fail. He said, “I wanna see the Suns do well.” Because of his connections with Suns owner Matt Ishbia, Green has a soft spot for the franchise. Moreover, Green also highlighted his love for Devin Booker, who despite his 49-point performance yesterday, failed to save the Suns’ season.

Understanding how great Booker is and what he is capable of, Green said, “I don’t wanna see Book get to that point where people start writing him off like he’s not one of the guys, because he is one of them guys.” After singing praises of Booker, Green also appreciated Bradley Beal’s effort in guarding Anthony Edwards throughout the series. With that, Green revealed he respected that Beal went down swinging.

Listening to Green’s comments, it looks like the only Suns player he has a problem with is Jusuf Nurkic. And after the things he said on the podcast, we can expect to see this beef extending even further.
