The ‘DeMar DeRozan-Kyle Lowry’ friendship has been one that is running for years. From Kevin Durant to LeBron James, everyone has expressed their thoughts on it—some with pure admiration and others with jealousy.

The friendship began in 2012 when Kyle Lowry joined Toronto Raptors from Houston Rockets. And it continued on until DeMar DeRozan was eventually traded to San Antonio Spurs in 2018. But to this day, they still remain as close as always. Even last year DeMar DeRozan was quoted saying, “If my mom had another son, it’d be Kyle. If his mom had another son, it’d be me… That’s how close we are. That’s what it is to me”

Lowry’s stint with Miami

If there was one thing that the fans truly believed and hoped would happen this off-season was Kyle to be traded. Along with Lillard coming to Miami. This was the other high-ranking wish of many. But as would happen, Dame did not come to the South Beach, and neither did Kyle’s departure happen. One of the major reasons for this was his inconsistent performance last season.

He scored a season-high 33 points, four rebounds, and five assists in a 116–105 loss during the Heat’s play-in tournament game against the Atlanta Hawks. But then due to injury, he missed the rest of the mid-season and was a backup for the finals. The fact that he is getting more injury-prone as he ages, makes everyone wish that the team would trade him for a younger and healthier player. However, that may not happen this season.
