Most NBA fans know Stephen Curry as the Greatest Shooter of All Time. His impact on the NBA has been undeniable as he has revolutionized the way basketball is played. But Steph is starting to spread his wings and leave an impact on other sports as well. Passionate about golf from an early age, Steph recently won the American Century Championship Golf Tournament in dominant fashion. He also founded the Underrated Golf Tour last year to provide a platform for culturally diverse young golfers.

Chef Curry was awarded the prestigious Ambassador of Golf award in June for his contribution to the sport. 3 months after receiving the honor, the 2-time MVP planned a big surprise for the Underrated Tour Winners.

Stephen Curry Surprises Underrated Tour Winners

Months after taking home the Underrated Golf Tour Curry Cup Championship trophy, two young golfers, Lucky Cruz and Roisin Scanon were surprised by Stephen Curry and United Airlines with a special recognition while they were on a flight home. The two young athletes thanked the Baby-Faced Assassin on social media for the honor. Steph’s Underrated Golf Tour provides “Equity, Access, and Opportunity” to young golfers from diverse backgrounds.

 

Curry has proved to be an advocate for the game of golf with his Underrated tour, and he also vowed to fully fund the Golfing endeavors at Howard University for 6 years. His impact on the game led to him winning the Ambassador of Golf award in 2023. With his initiatives, the 4-time Champion wants players from diverse backgrounds to participate and dominate at the highest level. His Underrated Golf Tour will make a return in 2024.

Curry and his passion for Golf

Apart from being one of the biggest superstars in the NBA, Steph has shown time and again that he is very passionate about Golf. He played golf in both High School and College and was a decent player at that level. Steph has focused on improving his golfing skills even more as an NBA player. After winning the American Century Championship in July, Chef Curry starred in a Golf show “Niiice Shot”.

In the show, the Warriors legend tried to recreate some of the most iconic shots in Golf history from Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Rory Mcllroy. With a knack for playing golf, it will not come as a surprise if the 9-time All-Star decides to turn pro in the sport after his NBA career is over.
