Stephen Curry is crushed! There is nothing that comes close to tonight’s failure for his Warriors. The same team that he raised into a dynasty with his blood and sweat. The Warriors hosted the Pelicans tonight and had to accept an abysmal loss – 105 against 141! Watching the 4x champion’s reaction has everyone up in arms, demanding the franchise to just let the poor man leave.

Kendrick Perkins is the one who held nothing back as he hit the Dubs with some hard facts. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “The Warriors are cooked and I’m done with the conversations on how can the Warriors save their season! THEY CAN’T and time to break the band up.”

It feels like eons ago when, in reality, it was just last season that the Golden State Warriors held the second position for the best home record at 33-8. And now, they have dropped to 11-11. Tonight’s defeat marks the second straight game that they have lost at Chase Center.

Steph played for just 25 minutes, during which he scored 15 points, made six assists, and grabbed a rebound. Moses Moody led the scorers with 21 points, with Jackson-Davis following at 19 points. Having to watch their beloved Dubs getting bulldozed at home was too much for the fans, that many left the arena early.

The need for a floor general was made even more apparent tonight. The skills of veterans like Draymond Green and Chris Paul to rally the squad were a need of the hour. Unfortunately, Green’s active floor duties do not yet have a specific date and CP3 is still out because of a fracture in the finger.

Is this a sign that Stephen Curry’s time with the Warriors has indeed come to an end?

Has Stephen Curry reached the end of his tenure with GSW?

This is a topic of interest for many. Literally, a lot! Since the season started, former basketball players, analysts, fans, and reporters have continuously discussed Steph’s prospects with his Warriors. And tonight’s horrible loss just fed more fuel to the blazing fire.

Let’s bring Kendrick Perkins once more in here. He had joined the cast of NBA Today to discuss the Warriors and the Lakers. Even though the Golden State started the new year with a win against the Orlando Magic, Perk believed that the team could not simply rely on Chef Curry to always drop 30, just for a chance at winning regular season games.

“It just goes to show you the lack of inconsistency when it comes down to players like Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson,” he added. So while everything points to Curry being better off out of the franchise, the likelihood of that happening is slim. For starters, he had signed a four-year $215 million contract extension in 2021. That alone keeps him with them until 2025.

Do you agree with Big Perk on how there is no hope in having conversations that list how GSW can save their season? Or is a simple change in coaching all that’s necessary? Let us know your thoughts below!

One take at a time

“Not only is there more to life than basketball, there’s a lot more to basketball than basketball” - Jackson had a simple philosophy when he was coaching the Lakers. He wanted everyone to succeed and grow in the service of something bigger than themselves. This is what struck me the most.
