Draymond Green can’t seem to catch a break this season. Not even four minutes into the Golden State Warriors vs Orlando Magic game tonight and Green manages to get himself tossed out. Referee Ray Acosta issued two technical fouls for Draymond’s continuous arguing and was ejected. The first argument happened when Acosta called Green for a personal foul. And then the ref once again issued a shooting foul to Stephen Curry, which did not sit well with the veteran forward.

He immediately went up to Acosta and started yelling at him. That warranted his first tech. And when it looked like he wasn’t going to stop, he was assessed the second and promptly thrown out. Tonight’s ejection makes it the fourth of the season for Draymond Green – a career-high; sparking reactions from Stephen Curry and the fans.

Draymond Green’s growing list of ejections

With his act tonight, Draymond Green became the first player since Kevin Durant to be ejected four times in a single season. KD still holds the record with five ejections in the 2017-18 season. But if Green keeps this up, it won’t be too long before he ties with the ‘Slim Reaper’. Two of the four ejections and suspension are well known to us – Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert chokehold and Phoenix’s Jusuf Nurkic slap.

For the Gobert issue, Green had been ejected and suspended for five games. But the Suns’ incident was his fall from grace. The NBA slapped him with an indefinite suspension and was ejected from the matchup. Unless and until he met certain criteria and conditions, he would be unable to take the floor. The whole situation resulted in a 12-game absence.

But prior to all of this, Dray’s first ejection of the season happened during a November 11, 2023 match vs the Cavs. He got chippy with Donovan Mitchell, exchanged a shove down the court, and Mitch returned the favor during the Dubs’ next possession when the ball was in Green’s hand. That caught the attention of refs and upon review was assessed a tech, his second of the night. The first tech happened earlier in the game when he argued with a ref. Two techs = ejection.

Witnessing the patterns, the Warriors fans are obviously not happy with how things went down. However, what shocked them more was Stephen Curry’s reaction to the whole incident.

Stephen Curry is overwhelmed with tonight’s affairs

The Warriors superstar was so overcome with emotion that he visibly broke down on National TV. “this is the look of a man that is worn down and tired of the bullshit,” tweeted the official Dubs Reddit account.

Another fan did a double-take when he saw the video of Steph wiping his tears on his jersey. His comment showed his disbelief at Curry’s rare emotional scene. “Holy hell he really was crying,” followed by an eye-roll emoji, clearly depicting his frustration with the whole situation.

Another fan believes that this is a sign of Steph Curry having had enough of Green.

Yet another user seems to understand the 4x champion’s frustration. “Made that man cry smh. He mad and frustrated I know them type of tears.”

Yet another fan resonated with the Warriors’ point guard, expressing disappointment and observing the bond Steph and Green have shared for well over 12 years.

While every fan reaction doesn’t hold out any expectations for Draymond Green, one could only hope for a change in Green watching one of his closest friend’s disapproval.
