Every Knicks fan forgot to breathe when the brilliant young star Tyrese Maxey drilled a 34-foot three-pointer to force Game 5 to overtime. New York was in the lead, with three wins in the first round of the playoffs. And tonight, they were at the edge of a sweet victory as the Knicks led 90-97 with just 28 seconds left in regulation. But Coach Nurse called a timeout at that very moment and what happened next was beyond anyone’s comprehension.

Mitchell Robinson fouled Maxey on a three. He hit the free throw. Josh Hart hit one of his two free throws and the first-time All-Star once again knocked a beautiful triple from near half-court. But right now, another moment following Tyrese’s celebration is going viral on the internet. A camera caught The Daily Show host and legendary comedian Jon Stewart’s dumbfounded expression as his favorite team faced their first defeat in the night.

Fans were quick to jump on the hilarious picture. And the good sport that Stewart was, shared the image himself with a humorous caption. “Respect to Maxey…but damn…I’m clearly getting too old for this shit…”

Well, his bewildered expression represented the entire Knicks community, no doubt. Jalen Brunson and Co. were on the brink of a certain victory when Tyrese Maxey turned into a charging bull. He could very well have been Arya Stark saying, ‘Not today’ to the God of Death, a.k.a. the New York Knicks in our current scenario.

Funny enough, that wasn’t the only amusing moment cameras in Game 5 got. Saturday Night Live fame, Tracy Morgan was not at all happy with Tyrese Maxey sending the matchup into OT. So much so that he gave the young guard the finger.

None of these provoked a feud on either side. Maxey was just happy that Philly had got to see another day that he barely noticed Morgan. And the post by Jon Stewart was nothing more than a friendly tweet. We can’t say the same about a back-and-forth between a celebrity Knicks fan and 76ers star earlier in the month.

Kelly Oubre-Ben Stiller beef

The whole thing started when Oubre‘s post-practice interview saw him taking a dig at MSG’s penchant for giving out complimentary tickets to celebrities. His exact words went like this, “They’re going to give celebrities those $100,000 free tickets just to be there and not care about the game.” Widely acknowledged as the ‘Mecca of Basketball,’ The Garden is a hotspot for top names in various industries.

This was brought to the attention of Stiller by ESPN journalist Alan Hahn, asking him to respond in White Goodman style – his character from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. And he did. “Oh I think I care a lot more than you think that you thought I cared… Kelly Who-bre?”

Oubre, for his part, did not miss a beat when the next journalist caught up to him and asked how he’d like to respond. “Yea I saw that. But I’m Peter LaFleur, just an Average Joe. We got this, you already know.” He was referring to none other than the protagonist, Peter, played by Vince Vaughn in the movie. Kelly is most definitely not your “average Joe” with such a comeback.

Well, there wasn’t any noise after that. But seeing as how the 76ers snatched the victory right out of his beloved Knicks’ mouth tonight, we can safely assume that Ben Stiller isn’t too happy. New York’s got one more chance before Philly ties the series. But they will have to play and win on the Sixers’ home court. And if Maxey is going to repeat tonight along with an equally dominant night from Joel Embiid, Jalen Brunson and Co. is going to sweat. Like, really sweat.
