The Detroit Pistons played against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. It was the game of an ultimate comeback by the Sixers, who had a very slow start. The Pistons, despite leading the match well into the third quarter, had to settle for their eighth loss this season. The Embiid-led Sixers are on a roll here stacking win after win for the past eight straight games.

Who does Sasser play like?

Marcus has played in every game this season and is already impressing people with his skills. During Friday’s match against the Sixers, he caught the attention of former player and current sports commentator, Greg Kelser. Kelser claims that Sasser reminded him of another rookie from the opponent team who is now making great strides in Philadelphia.

During the live broadcast, Kelser shared that Marcus reminded him of the 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey. According to Greg, his playing style was similar to that of the Sixers’ most successful rookie in recent times.

Tyrese was selected 21st overall by the Philadelphia 76ers, one of Daryl Morey’s first decisions as Philadelphia’s president of basketball operations. From the get-go, the 23-year-old played extremely well, first being the replacement when Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were injured. In his first NBA start, Maxey had a strong performance with 39 points in 44 minutes on 18-of-33 shooting. He only continued to grow, making his mark on the team’s roster.

Then, when James Harden joined the team in 2021, he helped Maxey grow more as a shooting guard. In 2022, during the match against the Toronto Raptors, Maxey put up a career-high 44 points on 15-of-20 shooting from the field, including nine of his 12 attempts from three-point range. This helped the Sixers put a win over the Raptors. He joined Hal Greer and Allen Iverson as the only Sixers players to score at least 40 points in a game before the age of 23. His nine three-pointers meant he joined Danny Green and Dana Barros for the most three-pointers made in a game in Sixers history.
