In the world of basketball, there have been a lot of legends. But there are very few players who have garnered the amount of admiration and respect the former Celtics star has. Having unparalleled skills and passion for the sport, the star had a marvelous 21-year career in the NBA. He is a 15x NBA All-Star and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.
The Former Celtics legend recently discussed his opinions about two of sports’ greatest icons. His admiration and respect for LeBron James was nothing short of astounding, even as he spoke about his love for Michael Jordan.

The former Celtics star praised his rival
For most of the NBA fanatics, Michael Jordan is the best player of all time. Even the former Celtics star, Kevin Garnett, did not hold back when he was asked about his favorite player.

He expressed his profound admiration for the former Chicago Bulls superstar, viewing him as nothing short of a “f**king God.” Jordan was the pinnacle of basketball in Garnett’s eyes. He even saw the NBA legend as his own personal representation of the game. Jordan’s greatness influenced him even beyond his basketball skills. But he did not hold back while showing his admiration for LeBron James.
In contrast to his views about Jordan, Garnett viewed James as his “little homie” who grew past all the players of his era and surpassed everyone’s expectations. He is pleasantly surprised at how LeBron, with sheer talent and unwavering determination, continuously elevated his game to unprecedented heights. Garnett acknowledged the friendly banter with James, fueled by their shared competitive drive to succeed.
In an exclusive interview with GQ, Garnett said, “I definitely talked some sh*t to him. I’ve definitely said some crazy sh*t to him. He’s definitely said some crazy sh*t back to me.” But then praising LeBron’s dedication he said, “You’ve gotta have that in you to be able to have those shoulders to carry it. No man is perfect in this sh*t, and there ain’t no telltale book on how to do this shit. He’s done a great f**king job. I just felt like it was only right to give him that respect.”

The respect LeBron James deserves
Beyond his on-court abilities, LeBron James has the burden of being this global superstar.

The weight of leading a team, the constant scrutiny, and the pressure to be a leader on and off the court are impossible tasks that only a few players can comprehend. Dealing with all this, James has achieved everything the NBA world had to offer, with his sheer dedication and great leadership.
