The NBA saw a furious brawl between Nikola Jokic and a former NBA champion in November 2021. This forced the 34-year-old player to miss time due to major injuries, causing a whirlwind of emotions.

However, months after the occurrence, this power forward and his twin brother discussed the sucker shot that rocked the basketball world on a recent edition of All The Smoke. Not only that but the twin also said how he took revenge for his brother on Jokic’s teammate.

The player who got the sucker shot was Markieff Morris. The situation began innocently enough, with Markieff Morris fouling Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic at half-court. While the infraction looked minor, it set off a sequence of events that would go down in NBA history. Disappointed with the elbow to the rib, Jokic charged at Morris from behind, shoulder-charging him to the ground as he walked away. Morris screamed in agony as a result of the contact, prompting both teams and officials to intervene to defuse the rising conflict.

Markieff Morris was blunt in his description of the situation. He referred to Jokic’s actions as a “sucker shot,” stressing the attack’s surprise. While admitting that the collision did not cause serious injury, Morris stated that it was like a whiplash and caught him off guard. Despite being allowed to play only two weeks later, he was out for a lengthy amount of time.

Marcus Morris, Markieff’s twin brother, also commented on the incident. He voiced his displeasure at witnessing his brother assaulted by Jokic and sought to get revenge. He said, “When we played them they were like on me. Like they knew I was going to do something to get to him. Any like little step I took they were like watching me. So I said f**k it, I can’t get him. Imma get one of your teammates, then we gotta take it like that.”

And when he was asked on who he’d got, he answered, “Austin Rivers, i just had to take him out.” After this Markeiff Morris signed a contract with Dallas Mavericks and will play alongside Kyrie Irving.
