With the Mavs finishing 11th in the West last season, the preseason will be an important opportunity for the team to test its newfound chemistry. The Mavs had great expectations for their star pair of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving after signing him at the trade deadline, but the season ended up being a dismal failure.

Addressing their upcoming preseason game, coach Jason Kidd said the following: “But this being a new season and being able to start in Abu Dhabi; when you see them [Irving and Doncic] play on the floor that they do co-exist and that we’re going to play at a high level, and we’re excited. Being able to have training camp, to have a full year together, their relationship is only going to get stronger.”
