The Golden State Warriors will host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. Stephen Curry and Co. hope to add a win to their 35-32 record by defeating a shorthanded Grizzlies squad at home. Amid the heated playoff race, the Warriors received great news that could make their path to victory easier.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr revealed that Draymond Green and Moses Moody will play tonight against the Grizzlies. Draymond and Moody’s status was questionable prior to Kerr’s update as they dealt with injuries. The forward has been in and out of the lineup in recent games due to lower back soreness. And Moody reaggravated his left knee soreness during Monday’s game against the New York Knicks. Fortunately, the two are healthy and available to play against tonight.

Draymond has previously revealed on his podcast that he has been dealing with back issues for several games. He recently missed last Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks due to the injury. He had an abysmal performance against the Knicks on Monday, scoring only 2 points on 1 of 7 shooting from the field. That is significantly less than Draymond’s season average of 8.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Meanwhile, Moses Moody had to leave Monday’s game after playing only 8 minutes for 3 points due to left knee soreness. The shooting guard has also been dealing with the injury for several games and was obliged to sit out last week’s Lakers clash. He is averaging 8 points and 3.1 rebounds this season. The Warriors and the duo will thus look to get the two back on their feet as they count their chances to up their standing.
Can the Warriors surpass the Lakers before the season ends?
Stephen Curry and Co. are currently stuck at the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings. They are two wins away from catching the 9th-seeded Los Angeles Lakers. With only 15 games remaining in the regular season, their hopes of surpassing LeBron James and Co. are getting bleaker every day. If the Warriors finish as the 10th seed at the end of the season, they will have to face the Lakers in the play-in tournament on their home court.

That might prove a significant challenge for Stephen Curry and Co. as the Lakers have been sturdy on their home court going 25-12. The Warriors have been rather well on road 18-14 as compared to Lakers’ 12-20. The Dubs could use every advantage they can get to triumph play-in and grab a playoff spot. They will hence hope Draymond Green and Moses Moody’s availability will help them on their goal ahead.
