The Golden State Warriors are facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. As any matchup between Stephen Curry and LeBron James is a sight everybody is always looking forward to, one can imagine the excitement for this one as well. But there were major concerns amongst the Dubs regarding two of the best players of the Warriors- Curry and Draymond Green.

However, according to the latest update, it seems like there might yet be some hope. Steve Kerr addressed the media ahead of the tip-off and revealed the positive news, commenting, “Steve Kerr on Steph Curry and Draymond Green: “I’m expecting them to play.””

‘Chef Curry’ has been dealing with a right ankle sprain while Green‘s got a lower back problem to take care of. Injuries have been an issue in the mountain of difficulties that the Warriors have had this season. The team is 1-5 without Steph and with James and Anthony Davis also dealing with their share of injury worries, it’s somewhat of a balanced pole for both teams.

But as mentioned above, this is a matchup that the superstars wouldn’t want to miss. And rightfully so! But there undoubtedly is more at stake here for the Dubs.

Stephen Curry and Co. are in survival mode with the clash against the Lakers

Golden State entered tonight’s game with a 34-31 record, narrowly trailing the Purple & Gold for ninth place in the Western Conference. The Lakers are 36-31. If Stephen Curry and his team get the victory tonight, then they will tie LA for the ninth. It might also give them a chance at overtaking them.

Given that it wouldn’t affect their play-in standings much, the ninth standing would furnish them with the advantage of having the game at home. And we all know how much of an advantage a home-court game is. But that’s assuming the Warriors or for that matter, the Lakers, might not have a late-season rally, as it is not uncommon for them to do so.
