With the Warriors looking forward to even out the playing field against the OKC, tonight will be interesting. The Golden State is 2-1 against Chet Holmgren and his team. Standing proud, the Thunder has a 13-7 record and will be looking to keep that steady. But a recent update on Chris Paul has raised concerns regarding an otherwise healthy roster.

Chris Paul played for Oklahoma during the 2019-20 season. A rebuilding team then, he had embraced his role as a veteran. Unfortunately, they will miss their ex-teammate for the game.

The Dubs still have Payton on the injury list and now CP3 has joined him. According to reports, he is out due to “illness“.

Fully determined to face his former team, the “Point God” had started feeling “poorly” earlier. Unsure what exactly is troubling the 38-year-old guard, the management deemed it necessary to let sit this one out. Previously, the 12x All-Star had missed both games against the Clippers in the wake of a quad injury sustained during the IST loss to the Kings.

With the championship as the only goal, Chris Paul had affirmed he was willing to do anything to take the team to their fifth and his first-ever ring. An illustrious career and a brilliant resume on CP3’s page, the only missing detail is a title.

Will CP3 continue with GSW?

Drafted by the Hornets in 2005, Chris Paul has seen at least seven team changes in his NBA career. With the “Point God” hitting free agency, it could become eight. But the Warriors have no qualms about keeping the 6x Steals Leader with them. And so far, Paul has never once mentioned any dissatisfaction with the Bay Area.

After a controversial Poole trade, many were concerned with how the older guard would fare in San Francisco. Clearly, he had no problem integrating himself seamlessly into the workings of the Dubs. In fact, throughout the team’s struggles, the silver lining was the Paul-led bench unit.

Averaging 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game, Chris has been a model Warrior. The issues faced by the Golden State have no relation to him whatsoever. So, it does look like we will continue to see Chris Paul in a Warriors jersey.

“Not only is there more to life than basketball, there’s a lot more to basketball than basketball” - Jackson had a simple philosophy when he was coaching the Lakers. He wanted everyone to succeed and grow in the service of something bigger than themselves. This is what struck me the most.
