The Brooklyn Nets breathed a sigh of relief when Ben Simmons hit the court. However, they were soon struck with another heart-stopping instance later in the game. Around the midway point of the fourth quarter, Cam Thomas was assisted back to the Nets locker room after an apparent ankle injury.

While energetically defending an outlet pass, Cam soared into the air, trying to deflect a pass to the corner three. Unfortunately, as he landed, he twisted his ankle, sending shockwaves through the arena. With that, Cam exited the court, contributing 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.

As of now, the severity of Cam’s situation remains uncertain. However, he will be out from the remainder of the matchup. At the time of his departure, the Nets were comfortably leading 97-73, maintaining control of the game.

The severity of Cam’s situation remains unknown at this point. Nevertheless, fans can eagerly await updates regarding the nature of Cam’s injury during the post-game interviews.

In the previous match, as Simmons made his exit from the court, the Nets gradually saw their grip on the game slipping away. However, in the latest game, the Nets managed to successfully maintain their momentum, ultimately emerging victorious with a commanding 111-86 win. Dennis Schroder took charge, leading the squad with 18 points and 5 assists, while Thomas secured the position of the second-highest scorer on the roster.

On the Memphis Grizzlies‘ side, Lamar Stevens, coming off the bench, led the charge with a notable 17 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr contributed 15 points. The low scoring across the roster can be a result of both teams entering the game on a rather dismal run, having won only 2 of their last 10 games.

This is the Nets’ interim coach’s first win ever

Just a week ago, the Nets shook things up by parting ways with head coach Jacque Vaughn during the all-star break. The decision followed a particularly disheartening season. Despite Vaughn’s extensive experience with the franchise, he couldn’t engineer a winning streak during his tenure. In response, assistant coach Kevin Ollie stepped up to fill the coaching role on an interim basis for the remainder of the season.

Kevin secured his first victory against the Grizzlies after the Nets had suffered a defeat under his leadership in the initial game against the Toronto Raptors. Despite the Grizzlies’ season-long struggles due to injuries factoring in, Ollie demonstrated adeptness in distributing minutes across the rotation. Thanks to a substantial lead, all 13 players got a chance on the court, with seven of them reaching double digits in scoring.
