It seems like the Lakers can’t catch a break from the bad luck. Just a month into the season and many of its stars are already being sidelined due to injuries. The team has been struggling to strike a consistent performance having lost 7 games and won 9. Things did look hopeful for a while with 6 victories in the past 8 games but now we are back to square one.

Players like Rui Hachimura and Cam Reddish largely pushed Los Angeles’ wins. But now both will sit out due to injuries. They will join LeBron James and Anthony Davis who are currently questionable to play.

As per reports by Dave McMenamin from ESPN, Rui Hachimura is out due to a surgery he underwent for an injury he sustained to his nose. His return is not confirmed for now as he will be re-evaluated in one week. The power forward suffered a nasal fracture during the Lakers’ eventual 104-101 loss to the Dallas Mavericks this Wednesday.

Hachimura had a slow start to this season as he suffered a concussion on October 29th, against the Sacramento Kings. This caused him to miss 4 games, but the forward returned stronger than ever to leave a huge impact on the team’s victories since. In the twelve games Rui Hachimura has played, he averages 11.8 points with 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists. This injury is a huge blow to the team as they head on a four-game road trip starting this Saturday. They will first play against the Cleveland Cavaliers followed by Philadelphia, Detroit, and Oklahoma City.

This also calls for Austin Reaves, Max Christie, and D’Angelo Russell to step up and take the lead if they want to see the team take back their winning streak. With a huge gap in the winning talent within the roster, Darvin Ham must come up with the best solution to all of his team’s problems.
