Talking to reporters post-game, he did not hold anything back when he just gave it straight. Kerr repeated the same phrase over and over again – turnovers and fouls.

Kerr on the “obscene” number put forth by the Golden State Warriors

The two reasons that led to GSW’s ultimate defeat – “Turnovers and fouls.” This is a song that we have heard from the start of the season. And this is also one of the reasons the Warriors are now 10-12. The “obscene” 29 turnovers committed gave the Thunder a whopping 35 points.

The Warriors pretty much survived on threes from the deep. Compared to OKC, they had a 42-point advantage on threes alone. The first half saw the Dubs’ starting five living up to their coach’s hopes, outscoring the ‘Sooner State’ 29-22.

By the end of the fourth quarter, Stephen Curry led with 34 points and there were many noteworthy individual contributions. There were three players with a double-double. Draymond Green landed 12 points and 13 assists, while Kuminga had 24 points and 12 rebounds in 29 minutes of game time. Dario Saric is the third player with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The absence of Chris Paul with the bench unit did not affect their production. Interestingly, Andrew Wiggins displayed exceptional defense guarding the Thunder superstar, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Unfortunately, the starting five totaled 19 turnovers alone.

Kerr is tired of sounding like a broken record

When answering questions after the game, it was clear that Kerr was simply tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. The Warriors’ game on November 29th against the Kings was the latest in the same vein. Though not as deflated or frustrated as tonight, Steve had reiterated the same.

“Fouling and turnovers, I can only say it so many times. Those two things have to improve. When they do, we’re gonna be really good,” he had said then. Even then, he had full confidence in the strength of his team. That seems to be the one factor that doesn’t change for the GSW coach of nine years.
