LATEST: Kevin Durant Drops the Hammer on Nets Future as Steve Nash Ultimatum Comes to Light

Kevin Durant is one of the most lethal offensive stars of all time. After winning 2 finals MVPs with the Warriors, the Slim Reaper decided to take on another challenge. Thus, Durant took a ticket to New York to join the Brooklyn Nets. With a skilled partner like Kyrie Irving, fans had the Nets as the favorites. However, with no title in 3 years, KD couldn’t stay for much longer. He recently put in a trade request. Now, he gave the Nets an ultimatum that will determine his future.
The entire league was in shambles when Durant requested a trade. The Slim Reaper had one of his worst playoffs performances, getting swept by the Boston Celtics. The back-to-back postseason failures were too much to handle. Moreover, with his fellow star Kyrie having his own issues, Durant was left alone to fight for the Nets. However, as he met Tsai, Durant had a clear objective to stay. Surprisingly, it doesn’t revolve around KAI.

Kevin Durant puts forward his terms
Ever since the request, teams have tried their best to acquire Durant. But Brooklyn wasn’t interested in letting the 12-time All-Star go for nothing. Their price tag was practically unattainable for any team. With 4 years left on his extension, KD and Tsai had a meeting. Brooklyn was hoping they could convince the Easy Money Sniper to stay. However, Kevin Durant made things even more complicated. Despite defending Nash on many occasions, KD wants the franchise to choose between him or the coaching staff. Moreover, he has no faith in the direction the franchise was going.
The ultimatum puts the Brooklyn Nets in one of the toughest spots. Having a coaching combo of Steve Nash and Sean Marks is rare. The Hall of Famer is one of the greatest point guards in NBA history and has an unreal feel for the game. On the other hand, Marks is one of the best GMs. However, choosing the pair means letting go the chances at a potential NBA championship in the coming years.

A major uncertainty is raining down on Brooklyn. A dream that started with Kevin Durant and Kyrie is crumbling down. If the Nets put their faith in Durant, their roster is still worthy of competing. Roping in Kyrie in for a final year, the Nets are still an offensive powerhouse. In addition, a valuable supporting cast, including Patty Mills T.J. Warren, Nic Claxton, and Royce O’Neal wrap up the squad perfectly. And one of the biggest additions comes with Ben Simmons. A big three that can dominate on either end of the floor could very well be the recipe for making a championship team.
