But among these big names entered Harry Giles as the 20th pick for the Portland Trail Blazers. Blazers gave his trade rights to the Sacramento Kings who also landed 2023 NBA All-star De’Aaron Fox as their 5th pick.?

He was the number 1 ranked high school athlete in his class. But the last team Giles played for was Damian Lillard-led Portland Trail Blazers, but NBA fans are rooting for him from all corners, hoping to see him back in the league.

The curious case of Harry Giles

Harry Giles III, picked in the first round of the 2017 NBA draft, hasn’t had a long career in the NBA so far. Giles’ injury prevented him from playing in his debut season. The following year he played, he averaged 7.0 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists during his second season. He also shot at 50% FGM. However, he had comparable numbers in his third season, but his shooting had improved to a 55% success rate. Now, just as it seems like he is prepared and eager to make a comeback and prove himself again.

Amidst all the growing interest among the NBA teams to sign the 6’11” forward/center, Giles’ former college teammate and the Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum might suggest they are considering signing his former Duke teammate, Harry Giles, for that spot. As they might have an open spot for a two-way contract. Following the workout, Tatum shared a video of Giles’ session on his Instagram story that in itself raises a few questions.

As it seems that JT is rooting for his former teammate’s success and wants to see him back in the league.

NBA fans react to Harry Giles’ private workout

After never getting a chance to show what he is capable of, Giles’ private workout with potential takers has sent fans into a frenzy. A brief video clip from his workout session, which was posted on Twitter by NBA reporter Chris Haynes, went viral.

Looking at the video, a fan tags the Sacramento Kings’ GM, Monte McNair and tweets, “@mmcnair bring back a fan fav ?”

Another fan tagged the Celtics star Jayson Tatum, and said, @jaytatum0 get your bro on the Celtics ASAP!!!!”

“Man I still believe in this dude. One does the best playmaking bigs. Super underrated. Very crisp passer and can get up and move.”

And another fan showed his aggression while saying, “Get him back in the league, man.”
